Brief Project Description:
This project involved the design, supply and installation of over 1,000 m² of 40mm thick rubbed sandstone paving - both straight and circular on plan - to form a complete new floor to the Cathedral Church of St Anne's in the heart of Leeds, as part of an extensive restoration and refurbishment project. The work also included areas of specially designed mosaic / geometric clay tiling which formed feature contrasting inserts throughout the floor. The scheme illustrates how well UK sourced sandstones can be incorporated into newly designed floor construction, still preserving the Architect's original design, in terms of stone size, shape and finish.
