In general terms, the bulk of our work is undertaken in the following natural stones, in both the Commercial and Private sectors.

Marble

A hard crystalline metamorphic rock composed primarily of calcite which has been used as a building and flooring material for centuries. In essence Marble is pure Limestone that has been metamorphosed by extreme temperatures and pressure from the earth's core to form this beautiful stone. The recognisable and characteristic veining in marbles such as Carrara and Arabescata are due to various mineral deposits like clay, sand and iron oxide which were originally present in the sedimentary Limestone.

Limestone

A sedimentary rock composed of calcium carbonate which has formed on the sea bed millions of years ago from the remains of sea shells and marine orgainisms. Britain is famous for producing some of the finest building Limestones, such as Portland stone - quarried, and now mined, on the Isle of Portland in Dorset and used extensively in the City of London.

Stone Connection partners with the UK's leading Slate suppliers, from the Lake District and Wales, to offer a range of superb products - all of proven durability and inherent beauty - for use on Architectural cladding and flooring projects in both the Commercial and Private sectors.
