Environmental Policy:
Stone Connection (UK) Ltd is committed to operating a highly successful Stone Masonry Business. We firmly believe that this involves conducting our affairs in a manner that does not limit the ability of future generations to enjoy the environmental and social benefits that we enjoy today. Our environmental performance, therefore, is of paramount importance to us and we fully recognise our responsibilities towards environmental protection.
As part of our commitment to environmental protection we have developed this environmental policy, which has been endorsed by the Board of Directors and communicated to all our employees. The policy will be reviewed annually and updated where necessary. It forms the basis for setting environmental objectives that will continually improve the way we do business.
Our Policy is to comply with current environmental legislation and where appropriate act in anticipation of future statutory requirements. This will include setting environmental targets and monitoring and reporting on progress towards meeting them.
In particular we aim to:
- protect and conserve wildlife habitats, flora and fauna.
- preserve our Architectural heritage and promote a sympathetic use of materials.
Focus on the design of stonework, within the context of client preference, to:
- consider the selection of building materials which reduce the environmental impact of the development.
- increase the energy efficiency of the finished product.
Focus on procurement to:
- consider environmental credentials of our suppliers, alongside quality, price and other purchasing criteria.
Work closely with Contractors involved in on-site operations to:
- address site contamination in an appropriate manner.
- prevent pollution arising from site activities.
- minimise impact associated with noise, dust and other temporary disruptions to the local community and businesses.
- improve energy and water efficiency.
- minimise the amount of solid waste generated and increase the value recovered from waste before its responsible disposal.
Train and communicate with our employees to:
- increase the environmental awareness of all that work for the Company.
Communicate our environmental policy and performance on an annual basis to:
- increase the environmental awareness of our suppliers, sub-contractors and employees.
- demonstrate the effectiveness of our environmental management approach.
